Flexifoil Soft Goods Development

Whilst working for Flexifoil, I set about maximising the impact of the product range at point of sale by creating a uniformed look. The ease of use remained the most important function for the bags however the aesthetics were carefully considered to maximise presents in the retail shops. The idea was to show progression through the range. Basic/simple designs for the low cost, simple kites and then levels of detail were added for the more expensive products. This also helps the shop to up sell products.

The bags were designed on the computer in 3D using Rhinoceros and then the panels printed off, cut out of fabric and used to prototype the concepts. The 2D panel files (in DXF format) were then fed into an automated fabric cutting machine for the production run.

The key to achieving a successful product bag range was having a clear specification which was compiled using valuable information from the sales team and end users.
