Real Environmental Product Design

I'm a product designer and develop products that are manufactured in their hundreds of thousands and sold across the world. This is great for business but as with all manufacturing it has a negative impact on the environment and resources. This is why I will be investigating ways to minimise the impact caused by the product during the course of its life. This will include looking at the whole process from product development through to production and then end of life (recycling).

The aim is to have a better understanding of how to develop a product which causes less damage to the environment and create a series of practical guidelines to help other designers do the same. First up is the 'concept stage'
