Aerospace manufacturing requires precise, error-free processes to ensure consistent high quality and reliability.

I helped develop crucial production procedures for load sensing products, including precise placement of small strain gauges, and created fixtures and a vision system to assist in this process.

Some of the fixtures I've designed include:

• Tools to evenly press the strain gauge at +150C

• Molds for enclosing electronic components with a mechanical housing

• Tools for inspection support

• Tools to protect parts during production

We also perform design validation tests on custom production equipment to ensure safety critical components meet requirements consistently.

For the load cell, the FEA study optimised the design for strain gauges. The studies ensured the best linear response from the strain gauges at all loads.
